Latin America Campaign October 29-November 12, 2011

Nicaragua PINCC began its training campaign in Leon and El Sauce (a small town about two hours east of Leon). In El Sauce, a full waiting room of women awaited PINCC when volunteers arrived at 7am each day, with many women coming from far-away homes in the mountains to be examined. PINCC in El Salvador- A Developing Success Story

Their doctors and Director, Graciela Colunga, wanted to develop the skills to provide screening and treatment for...

We treated 90 women for various gynecological infections, running the gamut from Chlamydia to yeast, and oh, by the way, saved five lives, i.e., we zapped their cervical dysplasia, which would have turned into cancer if left unattended. During the rest of our stay in Guatemala we...

PINCC in Latin America

La Ceiba, Honduras was our first stop. We worked in 2 local clinics, along with Nurse Specialist Zoila Mejia, whom we had trained to do PAP's and is now learning to detect dysplasia. We were also joined on day 2 by Dr. Dennis, a Honduran public health doctor trained in Cuba who started training in cervical cancer prevention. We worked until 7 pm to see all the women who had come, and were then treated to a lovely cake in thanks by the community's women. After collecting all our team members...
